Daysie Chain Designs – keepsakes for all the family

Grandparents Day is a celebration of family and for one of our keepsake businesses, the generations are pulling together to make it a success.

Trisha, mother of four, has gone into business with her two daughters Gerry and Nadine, as Daysie Chain Designs. She is a grandma to Gerry’s son Casey. Artistic skills run in the family, they were all born in Somerset and have just moved back to the area near Leigh-on-Mendip.

Trisha explains “We love being in the countryside which give us inspiration for our work. I love painting with watercolors, and have been commissioned to paint quite a few milk churns and signs which I design myself.

“The sea and landscape of Cornwall is also a great passion of mine. I often bring back carrier bags full of driftwood for various projects.

“We have always wanted to do something as a family, as we are all very art & craft minded. Working with the Keepsake Company seemed like the perfect opportunity and I am excited about working with my daughters to create lovely keepsakes.”

Trisha adds: “My younger daughter Nadine, has done a brilliant job in all the lovely photography work and organised all the technical  side of things. I could not have done this myself. We all have different skills which help to bring at all together.”

Her daughter Gerry is enjoying being part of the family business too: “my one year old Casey, who keeps me very busy, is the reason I wanted to start working from home.

“I love living by the sea. A walk along the beach is a perfect way to relax after a challenging day. The beach has always been a major influence on my artwork along with my love of the countryside which I get from my upbringing in Wiltshire. I graduated from Plymouth University with an honours degree in ‘ceramics, glass and metals’ which gave me an excellent foundation in many skills. I am thrilled to be able put these skills to good use and create some beautiful pieces. I am very lucky to be in business with my mother and sister as it makes it a lot more fun to share the experience.”

Perhaps one day Casey will be involved in the business too.
